This class will not be relying on an expensive and OUTDATED textbook this year.
YOU are EXPECTED to MAINTAIN a 3-ring Binder with the vocabulary handouts, notes and important information given out throughout the year. If you lose those handouts, YOU will be required to ask a classmate for a copy and go the library to print out or copy the information again. You will NOT be given multiple copies of the same handout!
This class will regularly utilize multi-media and electronic devices to advance student learning.
This class is also moving towards becoming a "paper-free" class, meaning that the main forms of communication/turning in "home"work will be through this wikispaces page and edmodo.com.
If you do not have access to a computer or the internet at home, please let me know, so arrangements can be made so that you are able to do what is expected of you during this class. If you don't tell me, I will think you have NO problems accessing a device with internet connectivity and you will be held accountable for the work required.
ATTENTION!!! We will be using websites that have been deemed "safe" for student consumption by JCPS, but that does not mean that students will not "find" something that may be considered "inappropriate" by our standards while doing research on the web. Please have conversations with your child(ren)/guardian about "safe" web-surfing and what to do in case an "inappropriate" web-site is "stumbled upon" outside school (i.e. at home, at the library, at a friend's house, etc.).
